ronaldb Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Hello, I have just recently observed that when I use live filters the effect disappears once I attempt to merge the filter, merge visible or export the picture. I have noticed that if I use the regular "destructive" filter it remains. For example: in the image I am working on right now I used a live unsharp mask to sharpen the eyes and lips with a mask. However anything I do to flatten or export the pictures results in the effect disappearing and the eyes going back to pre filter. If you like I can send you the current project I am working on so you can see what I mean. Please help. Thanks Ron Baker Quote
v_kyr Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Can't reproduce this behavior, at least not on the APh 1.7.0.209 Beta under Win so far, seems to work Ok there for live filters when flattened or merge visible layers. ronaldb Posted January 3, 2019 Author Posted January 3, 2019 Mine used to work properly as well. However as of recently it does not work properly. I am actually looking for technical support as this appears to be a technical glitch somewhere. Also, my version is 1.6.5.123 Quote
Fixx Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Are you sure it is just the old problem of effect being WYSIWYG only in 100% view? Some live effects render always to display resolution, which means that rasterized or exported version of the effect is just too faint to be noticeable. Quote

Could you expand on what it is and what the fix is? I do know that I have been using Affinity Photo for some time now and have only noticed this on my last two projects. Quote

v_kyr Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 If you are a forum member and owner of a APh release version, you can download, install and try out the beta! ronaldb Posted January 3, 2019 Author Posted January 3, 2019 I tried the Beta and it appears to be the same on the copy of the project I was working on. So, it does appear to be the "WYSIWYG" effect. If I zoom in to 100% on the merged layer there is not any difference from the layered version. How do I work with this? While I am working with the document it looks great however once I export it looks horrible. Quote
