Hi folks,

I have recently started using a glass ball in my shots, and would like to know how to flip the image in the ball to make it the correct way up. Ive seen tutorials for Ps but none for Affinity. Could any one help please, or is there a tutorial available, i am at a begginer level with Affinity.

Thanks.

I've not tried this myself but what about:

  1. Use a circular marquee to select the contents of the ball. This is not as straightforward as it could be, you may have to make several tries.
  2. Copy the selected area, then create a new file from the clipboard: File > New from Clipboard,
  3. Flip the contents of this image  (under Document > Rotate).
  4. Select All and Copy (ctrl-A, ctrl-C on Windows).
  5. Return to your original file and paste (ctrl-V). You may have to re-position this layer. Use the Move tool and the up/down/left/right arrows.

If you use the Ellipse Tool to create a vector circle, you can fiddle with its size and position and then convert it to a ‘marching ants’ selection once you’re happy with it.
