Only whole words are indexed

I'm not sure if it's a bug or if it's planned:
When I mark a defined string to index it ("insert marker"), I expect that this marked expression will be included in the index. Instead, only whole words are used.
An example: The text contains the word "Words". But I only want to include "Word" in the index. In the dialog box "Insert Index Mark" the whole word "Words" appears. I can of course change that in the dialog, but it's not very efficient.

That's a fair point. If i had a text selection, I;d expect the marker t be inserted at the start of the word but the topic text to be what is selected so I shall pop this in
