Borders Won’t Stay on Shape

Hello.

 

I am photoshop user on my iMac, but got  a handy little iPad Pro for Christmas so I thought I would try the Affinity.  I like it thus far, but am getting a bit frustrated with the border feature.  So I have a tear shape and all I am trying to do is create a border for it.  I go in through FX and can set it fine.  However, when I tap away the border disappears.  What am I doing wrong?

Hey Moxioron, welcome to the Affinity Forums.

I assume is goes when you click the canvas? Try tapping the UI or another tool instead of the canvas. I'm not entirely sure why tapping the canvas doesn't apply the outline... I'll find out!
