Historian1904 Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 I was trying to teach myself how to watermark a photo and somehow managed to increase the size of the work area so that it blotted out the icons for options at the top of the screen. How do I 'reset' Affinity to the default options? Quote
Staff Gabe Posted December 5, 2018 Staff Posted December 5, 2018 Hi @Historian1904, Welcome to the forums. Are you on Windows or Mac? Thanks, Gabe. Quote
Historian1904 Posted December 5, 2018 Author Posted December 5, 2018 I'm on a Mac. Thanks! Jeff Quote
Historian1904 Posted December 5, 2018 Author Posted December 5, 2018 No, that just toggles Affinity to take up the entire screen - that's for all Mac programs. What I need to know is how to reduce the size of what I'm calling the work area within Affinity - I'm sure I'm not identifying the area correctly. I can no longer see the icons at the top of where you work within Affinity. Quote
Staff Gabe Posted December 5, 2018 Staff Posted December 5, 2018 Try View > Studio > Reset Studio . Just beware that this will reset the current workspace to a default one. Quote
v_kyr Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 Or go to the View menu and look that show symbol bar, context bar etc. are checked! Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2
Historian1904 Posted December 5, 2018 Author Posted December 5, 2018 View>Studio>Reset Studio fixed the issue. Thanks!!! I'll try teaching myself how to watermark again and pay attention this time to see how this happened. Thanks, guys! Jeff Quote
v_kyr Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 How did Dan Aykroyd aka Sgt. Frank Tree already said in the 1941 movie ... Quote Sergeant Frank Tree : You shouldn't touch the ordnance at all. But more specifically, you should never pull this hand-operating lever to the rear. Ward Douglas : Never. Sergeant Frank Tree : Do not push a clip of ammunition down into the feed rollers here. Ward Douglas : No, sir, never. Sergeant Frank Tree : You never restore this lever to firing position. Do not make sure that this cover is completely closed. Ward Douglas : No, sir. Sergeant Frank Tree : Never depress operator's foot triggers here, here and at the rear here. Are you talking about the Mac OS menu bar that contains the Apple menu, File menu, Edit menu, etc.? If so, even if you are in full screen mode so that menu bar is hidden, just moving the pointer to the top of the screen & waiting a moment should drop down that menu bar, & also reveal the three round 'traffic light' window control icons in the Affinity menu bar. If you then click on the rightmost window control icon (the green one), it should take you out of full screen mode. Historian1904 Posted December 5, 2018 Author Posted December 5, 2018 R C-R - No, the problem was different. It had nothing to do with the Mac OS menu bar. I solved it by following the suggestion of another person to go to View > Studio > Reset Studio. That did the trick. Thanks for your comment, though. Jeff Quote
