ozphoto
I have an issue where I export a project that has 6 layers and I export it as a psd thinking I could go back and edit my work like Photoshop. The image opens up but I cannot edit it what am I doing wrong here? Also is what is the afphoto file name extension for?
walt.farrell
A . afphoto file is Affinity Photo's native file format (much as .psd is a Photoshop native format). If you want to save your work and allow for full editability in Affinity Photo later, you should save it as .afphoto, not .psd. Staff MEB Posted December 4, 2018 Staff Share Posted December 4, 2018 Hi ozphoto, Welcome to Affinity Forums Exporting to .psd should keep all layers intact (pixel layers, shapes, adjustments etc). Note however that text layers are rasterised which means the text is not editable anymore in the .psd file (it's converted to an image of the text, not editable text). If you intend to work with the exported psd file in Photoshop then that's the most compatible format you can use. If all you want is to keep absolutely everything editable and work exclusively in Affinity Photo then our native format .afphoto is the best choice as it supports all features of our application.
