obef
I apologize if it has already been treated, I would like news-instructions to create multilevel lists like these: 1. First level 1.1 Sub level 1.2 Sub level 1.2.1 Sub-Sub level I tried the Bullets and Numbering tab, but I couldn't solve it. fde101
After setting it up as a single-level list, press tab with the insertion point at the start of the line to move to the next level, or select the items to change the level for and set the "Level" appropriately (upper-right in Bullets and Numbering panel). To get the "1.2" type text, insert \1. at the beginning of the "Text" field under Bullets and Numbering. For "1.2.1", make that \1.\2. obef
Please confirm it to me, I must do the insertion (\1. and \1.\2. and .....) for each and every level ? Is there a "word processor like" way of setting multilevel list ? It is not very handy ... Thanks & Ciao
Typo998
Hi obef, It seems that you have a particular request, not showing the latest dot. I've try with word and it's not possible to do that. A workaround is to select the level 2 and duplicate it. I've create two new styles and call it Numbered 2a (level 2) and Numbered 3a (level 3) and apply this new style to each line I want to remove the latest dot. obef
Well I have try your suggestion, set up the whole structure , give Style names to the various levels and it is ok. Non as easy as I would have expected. I hope that some better approach will be implemented at later stage. Thanks & Ciao
Typo998
Hi Obef, In the Numbered 1 or a copy of, you have to change the next level to point to the Numbered 2a and on the Numbered 2a point to Numbered 3a. I think it's the best approach that Serif can do. Thanks!
fde101
Correct, the best way to handle this is to set up the numbering in styles and link the styles together using the "Next level" setting - so your level 1 style would have the level 2 style selected for the next level, etc.
obef
OK, I will follow your suggestion which make sense to me, however I hope that a word processor's approach will be taken into account by Serif. Thanks & Ciao
