(minor) Trouble with the Guides' Columns

I have been having trouble with the Guides' Columns; first off the colour doesn't stick it is always the light grey after quitting and starting again. And the Outline varient doesn't stick either always reverts to filled also after quitting and starting.
I really don't want grey.
