Len Killick
The options for PDF versions when exporting seem to be a bit limited in their "up-to-dateness". Below are the current specs for one of the most popular digial print companies in Germany. In PagePlus I already had problems with the X format generating PDF 1.4, but was able to simply choose PDF 1.3 and set the other relevant parameters in the document. In Affinity Publisher the X-format and PDF version can be set separately, but the "lowest" version of PDF available is 1.4; I'm sure there is a combination that will work, but the product shouldn't be too advanced in the options as you can see a big and popular online printer is not so advanced! Druckdaten FAQ Was beinhaltet der PDF/X-3:2002 Standard? Erstellungsprogramm vornehmen
Staff stokerg Posted November 10, 2018 Staff Share Posted November 10, 2018 Hi Len Killick and Welcome to the Forums, I don't what the chances are of getting lower than 1.4 but i've moved this post to the Publisher Feature Requests section of the Forums as it has a better chance of being seen by the Dev team and getting a comment from them. I'll also point this out to the QA team and see i can get comment from them
Steps
@stokerg Did you get feedback on that? My printer also wants PDF 1.3 for some reason. Quote Windows 10 Pro x64 (1903). Len Killick
No I've not heard anything, so it's not been worth seriously testing Affinity as I wouldn't be able to use it for anything I want to have commercially printed.
