Image placement occasionally goes awry

Recommended Posts

When is a bug not a bug - I have absolutely no idea, I am not experienced in that field.  What I can say though is I have been placing images for years in different ways, how difficult can it get.  Needless to say it has been a busy weekend or me.  Here is another flightless bug, or not, that has happened a few times.  But this time I can not solve it, On previous occasions I simply deleted, re-loaded, replaced, deleted page, reloaded page without master applied, reset, and drank another bucket of coffee.  So I just placed this image , yes, asper normal, not drunk, sanity all present and correct,  the image appears to want to hide behind the double page spread, a wee bit shy methinks of being made public, still I am sure somone has some idea here as to what is going on. By the way I placed the image simply by going directly to Place in the drop down menu. I  did not insert frames.  However inserting an image frame makes no difference either. It still wants to play hide and seek.  Oh and the right side there is no page, just the extra space.

Microsoft - Like entering your home and opening the stainless steel kitchen door, with a Popup: 'Do you really want to open this door'? Then looking for the dishwasher and finding it stored in the living room where you have to download a water supply from the app store, then you have to buy microsoft compliant soap, remove the carpet only to be told that it is glued to the floor.. Don't forget to make multiple copies of your front door key and post them to all who demand access to all the doors inside your home including the windows and outside shed.

Apple - Like entering your home and opening the oak framed Kitchen door and finding the dishwasher right in front you ready to be switched on, soap supplied, and water that comes through a water softener.  Ah the front door key is yours and it only needs to open the front door.

Where did you click the Place Image tool? On the spread, or on the pasteboard?

Did you simply click, or click and drag to resize it?

Chris, a tiny recommendation: Since this is a multilingual forum, why not telling you issue in simple, clear words? In my eyes, you don‘t need to decorate your questions in this way. You don‘t need to tell us your personal feelings and your actual mental and physical constitution. If you ask your question staight ahead without distractions, there are definitely better chances to get an answer.

My English is not that bad, but it is really hard to separate your essential issue from verbal requisites.

But, as I said: This is a personal opinion, others may have a different point of view … :)

Hi Walt, I just double checked, I made the place image tool wellwithin the borders of the page and it still comes out as the screen shot.  Here is another screen shot and this time you don't even see the image on the black outside the page.

Hallo Mac, I take your point, if this is better forum decorum then I will stop being such a conversationalist.  Unfortunately it is a habit for me to write in an informal manner in a sort of semi amusing way sometimes in order to inject what is so often missing from chatting and forums and that is the personal and the friendliness. (ahh and that smiling face softened the blow):)

SOLVED.  I had not anticipated this but I went back into photoshop to review how I had saved it as a tiff in the first place and discovered that the problem lay in that it had an alpha channel.  So Any tiffs saved with alpha channels will not display in Affinity publisher.  Good to know.  So that is two images I have replaced and re-saved in Photoshop, both had alpha channels.
