Blurry Clone Brush Tool selection with Global Sources

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am having a problem with the Clone Brush Tool. When I select a region of one image with the Clone Brush Tool to be used as Global Source, the cloned region is now blurry; however, if I change from Global to Current Layer, the cloned region is now as sharp as the original. I do not recall ever having this problem before upgrading to Affinity Photo 1.6.11, which I am running on a Late 2016 MacBook Pro 13" with Touch Bar running MacOS Mojave 10.14. Could anyone please help? Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

eas

Dear Lee D,

Would you know when the next version of Affinity Photo for Mac in which those issues with the Clone Brush Tool and Global Sources will have been addressed will be available? Work in my lab is unfortunately being stalled by these issues; a tentative timeline would allow us to understand whether we can afford to wait or whether we should start considering other platforms. Thank you for your consideration.

Best regards,
eas

Hi eas,

Welcome to the forum.

We're aware of similar issues with the Clone Tool and the use of Global Sources, these have been passed over to our developers to look into.

I do not use global sources, yet I get a blurred result in the latest Affinity Photo in 2021:

Update: Seems to be related if you managed to click on the source close to a floating point coordinate or not... which seems bad to me.
