Kobold Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 As a long time Freehand user I been working regularly with the knife tool. As just the update been (1.2) ready today, I am still missing that very important tool. Making workarounds is not a good solution. To me a knife tool is a very basic need, and I guess that there´s more guys around missing that tool same way as I do. Nice, day, cheers! moonbeetle 1 Quote
Staff MEB Posted April 2, 2015 Staff Posted April 2, 2015 Hello Kobold, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) The Knife tool is on our roadmap, but it's not yet implemented in the 1.2 update. Due to time and resource constraints it's not possible to integrate everything at once. Rest assured it will be added as soon as possible. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
byHEART Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 It's dissapointing nothing like this is available. Editing vectors is pretty impossible for me without this. Quote

Well, actually you can still edit vector shapes with a minor workaround: add points on the shape where you want to cut it and then use the “open curve” (or whatever it says in English; I have a different language) from the context panel. You can then delete the point(s) you want to get rid of and there you go, you’ve cut your shape. Quote
Staff MEB Posted October 10, 2015 Staff Posted October 10, 2015 Hi byHEART, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Select the Node Tool to add a point where you want to cut the path (or select an existing node) and press Break Curve on the context toolbar. The Knife Tool is already planned and will be available in a future update. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
