Hot Cheetos
I've been searching for an answer to this question, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I'm working on a picture and I really want to know the process of creating a two-toned face effect like lights is reflecting off of my face. There are examples below and I'm very, very new to editing, so plain English is appreciated.
Staff Lee D Posted September 10, 2018 Staff Share Posted September 10, 2018 Perhaps use a gradient fill or make a selection, apply a feather and create a new layer with a mask then apply a fill to. Another basic method would be to add a blank pixel layer and then using the Paint Brush tool with 0% Hardness paint over an area and then adjust the layers opacity and blend mode. Sara72
Hi, This is how i created the effect, although i think nice lighting and a studio setting might of created the images you posted. I just added 2 new layers above the image with a colour fill (red and blue) and an Overlay blend mode, attached a mask layer to both. Using a big soft, black brush on the mask to remover parts of the fill on the face, you can change the size and opacity to get a better effect: firstdefence, Hot Cheetos, Alfred and 1 other 3
Hot Cheetos
summersara, I have to play around with my picture, but this is exactly what I needed. Thanks a lot!
Sara72
No problem, i used a stock image that was already very desaturated in colour, which seems to work the best with two tone effect
