Many users will be hoping that Publisher can be genuine competitor to InDesign – and one that's not subscription-only at that. What options will there be for importing and exporting into .INDD files, say?

Also, InDesign offers many print output options, from very Press Quality down to small files. Will Publisher eventually do that?

There are probably other things, too. I'd just like to know if it will be possible for Publisher users to work alongside InDesign.

We will not be able to import indesign files on initial release but it is something we are looking to do in the future. For the print optoins my best advice is to go and explore what options we have available already and see if they suit your needs, they are all contained within our print dialog

Please read/use this similar thread for indesign import

A bit brusque? I do understand that you're trying to get all the threads together, but mine was about export as well. And I've had to find the print dialogue myself, which is quite well concealed. Do you want feedback?

As I've said elsewhere, it's great to see Publisher out at last, even if just as a beta version.

Absolutely, Sorry if my tone was too sharp. I have posted that or something like it into many similar threads and locked them, but as yours was also about the print dialog I left it unlocked for others to comment.
