lavinnyv
i'd like to be able to rip off the layer tab in the studio box and put it to the left or right of the studio box so i can see a longer list of layers but also have some of the other things in the studio. it lets me do that beside the tools on the left, but i'd be better to keep it with the other things on the right. Staff MEB Posted February 24, 2015 Staff Share Posted February 24, 2015 Hi lavinnyv, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Currently you can already drag a tab outside the studio (drag the tab by its name), but it will be turned into a floating tab. Hopefully this should be enough to get you going for now? Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
lavinnyv
it is, but when it's the layers, you don't want it to float over anything. i want it docked on the right side and have what's on the right side now show to. i work with hundreds of layers and need all the up and down space i can get to see as many as i can. and i still need to use swatches and all the other things that are on the right studio now. i know it's in beta and that floating works for now, it was just something i would hope makes it to the final release. i really would like to leave photoshop and use your products. Hokusai
lavinnyv, What size monitor do you use? I use a 27 inch iMac and I had similar issues as you when I first started using Affinity Designer. Now I dock the Layers palette (or tab) on the left with the other tools on the right side and it works well for me. I can see up to 33 layers at one time. If you have a big enough monitor then I recommend that you give it a try.
