Hey guys,

I recently got Affinity Designer and I really love it. I tested it out and tried a couple of things out. I want to export a picture with an Isometric grid so in the final result I can see the whole grid in the picture. Are there any settings which can enable grid view in the final result?

Thanks for fast reply

Hi Hpixpoke and Welcome to the Forums,

We don't have an option to export the grid as part of the image, would make a good feature request.

One way would be to replicate the grid over the image by hand using the tools within Designer OR and this is really is a last resort and depends on your final goal with image, you might be able to get away with taking a screenshot of the drawing in Designer.

Yes please, I could really use this feature right now. Took a screenshot like you suggested but it's not a good solution.

Welcome to the forums @Jamie Cropley

This thread, which is almost seven years old, is in an old Questions section of the forums so any ‘voting’ done in this thread is generally irrelevant as there is no evidence that Serif takes the content of the threads in any of the Questions sections into consideration when deciding what to implement.

If you want to ‘vote’ for something then the Feedback and Suggestions section of the forums is probably the place to do it, but when doing so you should be aware that, again, there is no evidence that the number of ‘votes’ for something makes much difference to Serif’s plans. (There are plenty of things which have been getting ‘votes’ for many years which have not yet been implemented, and there are some things that haven’t been requested in the forums which do get implemented.)

Exporting with grid lines seems like a very easy update. Why has this not been done? When drawing rough blueprints, it would be such a helpful feature.

Welcome to the forums @DaveKam

Only Serif can say why anything hasn’t been done with their software and they generally don’t tell us things like that.

As has been mentioned earlier in this thread, this is a question thread and there’s no evidence that Serif look at question threads when they are looking for new features to implement.

I refer you to the post in this thread which was made before yours.

P.S. I think it would unwise for anyone who does not have access to the code, or inside knowledge of the company processes, practices and/or plans, to assume how easy it would be to implement something within that code.

I don't really know, but, possibly, because only 3 or 4 people have shown any interest in it over several years!
There are a lot of other feature requests (not to mention bug fixes), which many people have requested, and for which they are still waiting!
