livemike
When I try to import photos labeled RAW from Photos app on the iPad they open in affinity in the Photo persona rather than the develop persona as I would expect. Am I doing something wrong?
Staff stokerg Posted March 12, 2018 Staff Share Posted March 12, 2018 Hi Livemike and Welcome to the Forums, Doesn't sound like you are doing anything wrong. What make and model camera are your RAW files from? If you place one of the RAW images onto a Cloud drive, such as iCloud can you then open the RAW file in Affinity? pixelcoder
Hi, are you sure you have RAW Files you work with cause I have an Nikon and File Size L is for jpg not raw. Or do you shoot Raw+Jpg? Update: I just saw that newer models have different Raw Size as well, so that might not be the problem here. cheers, Lutz Quote | https://www.instagram.com/lutz.heidbrink | https://500px.com/lutzheidbrink | https://www.eyeem.com/u/pixelcoder | https://society6.com/pixelcoder iPad Pro 10.5 - iOS 11.4.1 - Affinity Photo 1.6.7 - Affinity Designer 1.6.0.

livemike
Yeah I’m using RAW L large on the D850. My understanding is that is the only Nikon raw format supported by Apple that is compatible with Affinity on the iPad

The first two times the app doesn’t show the picture but Import it. When you use the photos app do you have optimised storage enabled in iCloud? livemike
Thanks what I’m finding is if I import one RAW file off the card reader and immediately open it in Affinity it opens as a RAW, if I import multiple files in Photos, Affinity opens them as jpeg. Not sure where the problem lies but I suspect it is the iPad
