My copy was purchased from the MS App store, I cannot download the beta versions, will there be delays or problems getting updates?

There won't be any problems getting updates for the release version. It's just that Serif don't currently have a mechanism for verifying your eligibility to run a customer beta, since you're a Microsoft customer rather than a Serif one.

I am interested in this too. I purchased Affinity Photo and Designer from MS store. I now realise it would have been much better to purchase directly from Affinity store. I am very interested in trying Publisher. I am still using CS3 from Adobe and Publisher would mean I can move completely to Serif. Will I be unable to try the beta release of Publisher when it comes?

Assuming that Publisher is treated the same way as Designer and Photo, the pre-release betas will be available to everyone and then subsequent betas will only be available to retail customers. It remains to be seen, of course, whether Serif will find a way to allow Microsoft Store customers to participate in customer betas.
