srg Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Hello, I cannot add a preset Mode while in the crop mode. I can add a ratio or a defined dimension but then when Iselect it and move the overlay it goes in any direction. What am I doing wrong? Furthermore, I think that it would be a nice option to have the possibility of adding operator selected overlays such as lines in a Golden ratio or other, and also move the spiral around. Thank you very much. Quote

I don't know what you're doing, so it's hard to know what's wrong. This works for me - Set mode to Custom ratio Specify the numbers Set mode to Add Preset Specify the name and click OK 18 hours ago, srg said: Furthermore, I think that it would be a nice option to have the possibility of adding operator selected overlays such as lines in a Golden ratio or other, and also move the spiral around. You can select overlays - the overlay menu is to the right of the Mode menu. Quote AP, AD & APub user, running Win10
Staff MEB Posted January 31, 2018 Staff Posted January 31, 2018 Hi srg, Welcome to Affinity Forums The steps outlined by IanSG should help you save the the preset. Let us know if you still have trouble. Regarding the overlays, besides the Overlay dropdown in the context toolbar (in case you aren't seeing it - maybe it's because you are using a small laptop/screen resolution? - click the >> symbol on the right of the context toolbar to display a pop-up with the rest of the controls), you can also press "O" (letter) to cycle through the overlays and ⇧ (shift)+ O to cycle the orientation of them (Spiral). srg Posted February 2, 2018 Author Posted February 2, 2018 Thank you but I am missing something. When I try to set a custom ratio, for example a golden ratio or any other value, I specify the number then set mode to add preset and then I add a name and click ok, but when I go back to the set ratio I get it but it behaves like it is an uncostrained value. I.E. when I try to expand the rectangular overlay or contract it, it moves in any direction loosing its set value unless I set the ratio and then I set the mode to costom ratio. This does not happen with other values alredy in the Mode. I still think that it should be very nice to have other well used in the art world pre-set overlays on the Overlay dropdown. for example a division of the frame according to the Golden ration or the Golden triangles etc. Thanks again. IanSG Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Are you following the instructions in my previous post? The only way I can duplicate what you're seeing is by adjusting the crop box while the mode is set to Unconstrained and then going to Set Preset. Quote AP, AD & APub user, running Win10
