FarFromSane Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Is there an AP equivalent to Photoshop "Edit>Auto-Align Layers…" ? In particular, to accomplish what this tutorial is trying to achieve ? Same question for the sharpening used in this article. https://petapixel.com/2015/02/21/a-practical-guide-to-creating-superresolution-photos-with-photoshop/ Quote
R C-R Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Have you tried using Image Stacks? Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.5.7 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7
FarFromSane Posted January 30, 2018 Author Posted January 30, 2018 Yes, I've loaded images into the stack. Note that in the article they do not want the images aligned during the initial load .. that would ruin the objective. Rather they load the images into photoshop as layers, then chose Edit\Align Layers. I"m looking for that Edit\Align Layers function. Quote
walt.farrell Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 The key point to that tutorial, I think, is that they load the images into a stack (without aligning), then resize to 200% width and height, and finally align. You should be able to accomplish the same thing by using a batch job to resize all the images to 200% width and height, then load them all into a stack with auto-align set. That way the resize occurs first, as the tutorial requires. Not as convenient, but should be feasible using batch and with only 20 or so exposures to deal with. But I don't think Affinity Photo has the after-the-fact Align Layers function you're looking for to simplify the process any further. Thanks for pointing to that tutorial; it looks interesting.
