Lock Rotation Centre

Recommended Posts

Hi all, would like to see the option to lock the rotation centre to the position you set outside of the object so that you can move the object closer or further away from the locked rotation centre and still be able to rotate around that rotation centre.

At the moment if you move the object the rotation centre moves in relation to that object, see video below for what I mean.

Hello firstdefence,

I understand what you want and I find it an interesting idea. For the moment I want to suggest a workaround.

Before you start to move the object you could drag out two guide lines that cross exactly where the rotation center is located. After you moved the object you can then precisely realign the rotation center to this point.

I understand that this is a not optimal workaround but it should do the trick for now :)

Cheers,

d.

Hi Dominik, thanks for the workaround, I actually thought of this feature while creating a video for another post on here and thought it would be cool to be able to lock the rotational centre so that you could move in and out while rotating.

I, too, can think of that as a very good improvement. Let's see if it makes it into the application :)
