caravaggio Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 I have three lines that form a triangle. How can I make a curve out of the triangle so that I can paint in the triangle without overflowing out of the lines? Quote
Alfred Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @ugoboggio. In Affinity Designer 1.6, marquee-select the three lines with the Node Tool and click on the 'Join curves' icon on the Context toolbar to join them. For a closed shape, finish off by clicking on the 'Close curve' icon. BTW, your current username looks like an email address and is therefore likely to attract the attention of spammers and scammers. You might want to consider changing it. Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)
v_kyr Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Or as an alternative, just drag a triangle out of the shape tools, convert it to curves and adjust it to your likings with the node tool. Then I can switch to the Node Tool to use the 'Join curves' icon on the Context toolbar. For me, marquee-selecting with the Node Tool only works for selecting nodes of already selected objects. EDIT: In fact, I just noticed that for perfectly horizontal or vertical two-node straight lines, even after the line is selected, marquee-select with the Node Tool fails to select either end node. (I think this is a known bug that may already have been fixed in the latest beta, but I am not sure about that.)
