slinberg
Does AP have a Posterize function like the Photoshop filter / smart layer of the same name? This is the one feature I'm missing on my iPad. I need to take grayscale images and posterize them down to 3 or 4 flat levels of gray. If it can't posterize, is there some other way to accomplish this?
Staff MEB Posted December 8, 2017 Staff Share Posted December 8, 2017 Hi slinberg, Welcome to Affinity Forums Check the Adjustments Studio. There's a Posterise adjustment there. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
slinberg
Thanks MEB. Stupid question, just since I don't have the app yet and I'm not familiar with it: is the Adjustments Studio part of the app? Or something different? - Steve

AnneHW
I just tried using “posterize” with iPad and it did nothing! Why does this have to be so tricky? I’m glad it worked for someone else, but I see no changes at all.
DM1
Clicking on Posturise adds an adjustment layer. You need to play with the settings in the Adjustment layers context menu (bottom of screen). Try reducing layers for stronger effects. Opacity will also alter strength of effect on layers below. if you still see no effect make sure you have selected the photo layer prior to applying the adjustment. If your layer is an image layer (shown in layer studio, if Photo is 'placed' into the project it will be an 'image' layer. You will need to 'rasterise' the layer to make it a pixel layer. Rasterise is listed in the Command menu (three dots). Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen).
