Import .indd files to Affinity Designer

I read designer and photo can import .psd files and .esp but not .ai or .indd.? Will Affinity e er have a publishing app to compete with in design so. I can totally get rid of Adobe.

Affinity can't import .ai or .indd I'm afraid. Our next app will be Affinity Publisher a desktop publishing application

The Affinity apps can import *.ai files, but only if they've been saved using the option to create a PDF-compatible file. Affinity will then read the PDF stream.

InDesign can not load it own files sometime (upwarts). How should this possible in other applications?
