Panlumix
Am I right when you dock tools to the left access strip in Affinity Photo these are a destructive action,as they do not nest under the current photo selected. They seem to react different from those you select from the layer panel. If so what is the point of this option,is to speed up the editing process. Staff MEB Posted November 21, 2017 Staff Share Posted November 21, 2017 Hi Panlumix, Welcome to Affinity Forums These additional buttons/tools correspond the destructive filters you find in the Filters menu, not in the menu Layer ▸ New Live Filter Layer. To access the latter you can use the Live Filters button on the bottom of the Layers panel. Regular filters from the Filters menu are destructive, once you apply them to the image there's no way to re-adjust the filter values. Not all destructive filters are available as Live Filters (for technical and other reasons). Live Filters lets you adjust the filter values as needed anytime since they don't affect the image data directly. They just act upon it.
