elderone1
Affinity Photo file compression creates illusions or artifacts from adjacent parts of photos. I have been a long time user of the various version of Serif PhotoPlus, and I have compared results of a selected photo compressed by Affinity and by Photoplus. The compression artifacts are present on all photos that have been processed by Affinity. There are no such artifacts using Photoplus. I attach what Affinity does to a photo. Interesting effects, but not wanted! Note that this is a Win10 computer, but my Serif PhotoPlus X8 is installed on a different Win10 computer. Pšenda
Are you setting the adequate output quality? I load your second image, and export him with previous setting. Fixx
Point is, JPEG export should not do banding even is quality is set low. There is something wrong in export algorithm. Avoid using quality setting lower than 30.

Fixx
OK right. I did not see PS banding at first as it is limited to lightest tones but when I tilt display I can see it.
