Text with outlines

Hello,

 

I would like to create a text like the one in the attached picture. I know how to create the red text. Can you tell me how to create the white outlines?

Without duplicating the text you can also apply an "Outline" effect directly to it, the color and radius of which you adjust.

And set the outline to the outside on the single text object...probably shows that in the screenshot but I'm on a phone and block images...

You're right, Mike, but my screenshot did not show it because it's the default behavior when opening the function.

Thank you for mentioning, I should have stated it to be quite complete.

Outline effect converts whole set pixels in export. With layer copy you can keep vectors.

Don't use the FX, Fixx.

 

Just use the Line property and set it to the outside and the thickness desired. It makes it a pseudo contour, but for this example, would work near identically.

You don't need to copy the text layer to get the stroke behind the original. You can set the Draw behind fill checkbox in the Stroke panel instead.

And to add to Dave's advice, leave the line position to its default centered position and adjust the line weight by eye. It will help to prevent any edge aliasing if doing an image export, like for a web banner.
