Jouzi.Ef
Hey, I'm so desperate. I have been trying to apply picture with transparent background on another picture, but all what I am getting is picture with white background. I am pretty sure such a great tool as Affinity allows to work with transparent background, but I have no idea how and I am so lost. Please someone heeelp. Many thanks, Josef (iPad user)
Staff stokerg Posted August 16, 2017 Staff Share Posted August 16, 2017 Hi Josef and Welcome to the Forums, What file is the image you have with transparency? Also, how are you bring the image with transparency into Affinity? I just tested this using a PNG file with a transparent section and it showed the image underneath. I opened my 1st image and then using the Place option on the Command menu, brought in the image with the transparency.

Jouzi.Ef
Hello everyone, Thanks for your replies, I appreciate it. This is what I'm getting (see pic attached). Picture I'm trying to use should be in format .png. I downloaded it from Dropbox.
Staff MEB Posted August 18, 2017 Staff Share Posted August 18, 2017 Hi Jouzi.Ef, Welcome to Affinity Forums One thing you can try is apply the Erase White Paper filter to that layer/image only (make sure it's selected when you apply the filer). Since this filter will turn grey areas of the image in semitransparent areas it may not work if the image has grey which doesn't look to be the case here. In that doesn't work you can also try a different approach: select the layer, tap the three dots on the top of the Layers Studio, tap the Source square (on bottom), add a node to the middle of the graph line tapping on it and drag the right end node of the line to the bottom - adjust the middle node position to the left or right as needed until the white disappears.
