seanf
Is it possible to increase the accuracy of rotation to more than 1 decimal place? I'm aware that this can be done for size and position but haven't found a way to do it with rotation.
Staff DWright Posted August 11, 2017 Staff Share Posted August 11, 2017 Hi seanf, Welcome to the forum The rotation ans shear values are only support 1 decimal place and cannot be adjusted, the option to increase the number of decimal places for these has been requested by other users and may appear in a future build. seanf
OK thanks, I tried a search as I was sure this must have been brought up before but couldn't find anything. Sean

Isn't that true only for the numbers displayed in these fields? I thought the internal precision was much, much higher than one decimal place, including for rotation (& I assume shear as well). For example, in Affinity Designer I created a flower petal shape, duplicated it, & with the bottom center anchor point selected in the Transform panel I entered 360/7 for rotation, then power duplicated 6 more times. The final duplicate lines up exactly with the first shape, which would not be true if each duplicate was rotated 51.4°, as indicated in the panel. (360/7 is approximately equal to 51.4285714286.) 7+1 petal flower.afdesign Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.
