Transparent Background not defined enough.

How can I make the transparent background darker more defined? 

When I add a shadow then within the shadow the transparent background is more visible how can I make it all more visible?

I'm not too sure I understand your question completely. Are you trying to find out how to change the colour of the checkerboard?

Yes so it is more defined now it is over all too white.

There is no way to do this in Affinity I'm afraid.

Perhaps this thread could be moved to the Feature Requests section, although I think there may already be a thread about it there: the attachment below (showing a composite from the Preferences dialog in Serif PhotoPlus) comes from a previous discussion about changing the colour of the checkerboard.
