Upon purchasing Affinity photo, newest edition, I had installed Google Nik collection without any installation problems. Today I went to install some photoshop plugins I have. After identifying what folder they are in, choosing the "allow unknown plugins" , and pressing close, then allowing a reboot. When program started and came back to "Preference" screen, I not only didn't have the new plugins but lost all Nik plugins. I then tried to reinstall the Nik plugins without luck. Any suggestions as to why or did I do something wrong.

Hi Jrm4040,

Welcome to the forums.

Can you check that the Authorise Global has been enabled in the Plugin options. If they still don't show, uninstall them and run the setup again, making sure that Photos Plugin options are setup again as well, just in case.

Did another download of the Nik files. Went through full install as I originally did. Did check off Global, and files were again in Photo. But and this is where I'm not sure if I did this correctly. When I tried to load  2 folders of Photoshop plugins, this time there was no loss of the Nik plugins. In the Preferences window it showed the detected plugins and in the Plugin search folders box it showed where the Nik files located. I left that alone and below it added my folder location for my Photoshop plugins. It did load them and now they are all marked "Unknown" and don't show up under Filters. Do I need to fill in the box "Plugin support folders" to get them to work. With Google Nik I didn't do anything in that box.

Hi Jrm4040,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

Make sure Allow Unknown plugins to be used is checked in the Photoshop Plugins Preferences dialog. Note that not all plugins are working/supported. This is still being worked on. Which plugins are you trying to install? For more info about which one are working check this (unofficial) list on this page.

Well that answered and solved the problem. My photoshop plugins are not supported yet. As a side note the Google Nik plugins I've also loaded each of them as standalone programs. This has allowed me to use a module that would not function running under Affinity. Thanks to you and Lee D for you time.
