zabouti
I like the before and after view icons in Develop Persona but can't find a way to get the same functionality in Photo Persona. I'd like to be able to switch between my original image and the results of edits (all adjustments, filters, etc.). In Photoshop you just CMD-click the background layer's checkbox, I think, but I can't find this functionality in Affinity Photo. I tried searching for "before and after" in this forum, but it's to smart for me. I knows that I'm really searching for "before after", and it finds nothing. Thanks for your help. If this can be done, I know it's quite simple....

Staff MEB Posted March 24, 2017 Staff Share Posted March 24, 2017 @MBd, That only works if the adjustments/filters are not nested/clipped to the layers and assuming you have the background layer intact and want to see the result of all changes made by the layers above. The purpose of alt-clicking a layer is to isolate it temporarily, hiding all other layers. @Hi zabouti, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Currently there's no similar function in Affinity Photo. If you are using independent adjustments/filters layers (not nested or clipped to any particular layer) you can alt-click the original image as a quick workaround otherwise you have to uncheck the checkboxes of the adjustments/filters. If the adjustments are clipped (dragged over the image layer) you can select multiple adjustments shift-clicking the first and the last one and unchecking the checkbox of one of them. If they are nested (dragged over the thumbnail of the image layer) you have to uncheck them one by one. Fly-Boy
You can go to the History Studio, go to the top of your changes and see what your photo looked like when you first imported it. There is a slider at the bottom of the list is a slider that will allow you to step through all of your changes.
