igeoghegan Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 ITunes App store does not seem to allow for this possibility. Please advise. And don't say "Gift Card", please.
peter Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Do you own a copy? I could be wrong about this but can you download your paid version from the Appstore and put it on more than one machine? The other answer is to send a link over to the recipient, to download the free 10 day trial, if available. Then hopefully offer to pay for the full program later on. Or you could try Family sharing: http://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201079, failing that why not ask the store staff. AD is not available from Serif nor Affinity. AD the gift that keeps on giving. igeoghegan Posted December 18, 2014 Author Posted December 18, 2014 Thanks Peter, I wish to buy a copy for someone on the other side of the country, so the first option is out. The second option, while technically possible, represents a horrible gifting experience. Any other suggestions? peter 1
peter Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Ask the App store or Affinity staff. The other option is slightly expensive , but lovely  ...buy your recipient a new shiny Mac: put AD on it and see their face REALLY light up. After that igeoghegan I'm stuck for ideas. You'll just have to wait for better ideas to arrive shortly from the other users. I think I said something like this in an earlier post... igeoghegan 1 MacBook pro, 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB, OS X 10.11.6 http://www.pinterest.com/peter2111
Brian D Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 EDIT You can buy them through iTunes from this link: https://buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/buyLandingPage Do you have an iPhone or iPad? I don't know why this isn't an option on the Mac App store (or the Apple Store), but you can send instant gift cards using an iOS device. The only caveat is the recipient must be using the same country App Store as you (no cross border gifting apparently). I guess you're still stuck sending them a link to the app, but it's better than the alternatives. Go to the App Store and scroll half way down to one of the featured tiles, it looks like this: MattP and peter 2
peter Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 I never knew that. MacBook pro, 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB, OS X 10.11.6 http://www.pinterest.com/peter2111
