Besides, you already broke your own rule by telling us about linked files in the first place because it is still an unreleased feature!!! Just because other companies refuse to divulge details about upcoming features doesn’t mean you have to. I assure you that the world will not suddenly end because you talked in more detail about “linked files“ in more detail with in this forum. I doubt that even 100 people would even see it in this thread anyway. Providing extra tidbits of information to loyal fans of your software always works out to be a good thing, not a bad thing. But simply saying that linked files are a “forthcoming feature“ really isn’t a useful tidbit in that it something we already know.
Staff MEB Posted June 12, 2018 Staff Share Posted June 12, 2018 Hi JDW, I understand your frustration but no, it's not a matter of will. It's a matter of keeping my job. Linked files were already talked/mentioned before quite a few times - i'm not saying anything new at this point. fredcallaway
So happy to have linked file support in Publisher. I did notice, however, that when I open a .ai file with linked files, Publisher treats them as embedded. Is that the expected behavior, or might I be making a mistake somewhere? Is there a workaround?
