Hi, I am having an issue where any colour I select with the eyedropper tool or when I select a colour in any swatch, the colour that is applied will be a grey. I cannot get any colour to be applied with any tool. Selecting any colour (such as blue /red etc) will result in an equivalent shade of grey being selected. I cannot work out what I have done to make this happen! Please Help!

Hi Charles,

Welcome to the forum.

Check to see which colour profile is active, Document > Colour Format it sounds like Grayscale is selected, switch to RGB and the Colour Picker should work.

Try Document > Convert Format / ICC Profile... or Assign ICC Profile...

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

If you scanned in grey scale, the image will stay grey.

Changing the profile (to RGB or CMYK) will permit to use colours in the document, but you'll have to apply them where you want them.
