It looks as though you failed to attach your example after uploading it, but I presume you want to make images like the ones shown on this page. I don't think you can do this in Affinity Photo; as far as I'm aware, it doesn't include any features for dealing with video footage or animated GIFs.

Thank you for the welcome and response Alfred, much appreciated. And yes, like the images in the link you sent. What I've learnt so far is that you need a short video clip, which you need to convert into layers. You then choose the section of movement you want and the associated layers. It can be done in photoshop, but I was hoping there might be a work around in Affinity.

Thanks for the link, Lizzie. As I'm a Windows user, I think I would find it easier to use the free Cliplets (from Microsoft Research).
