BBG3 Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Color overlay is an amazing tool for changing a group of shapes or a single shape. I'm doing final check for 92 designs for printing. All colors are global colors, but the Layer Effect does not show the name of the global color I selected or highlight the color on the panel so I can check if it is the same as the color I defined before. GarryP Posted March 18 Posted March 18 I can’t tell if this is one issue, or two issues, or something else. Can you explain a bit more about the problem(s) with more details pointing us to exactly where we should be looking and what we should be looking for? Quote
BBG3 Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 Thank you, @GarryP. I changed that. I hope that is more clear. Quote Affinity Designer | Affinity Photo | Affinity Publisher V2.6.2 ▪️ Mac: 2021 M1 MacBook Pro 16", 32GB memory, macOS Sequoia 15.4 ▪️ iPad: iPad Pro, 12.9": iPadOS 16.7.10, Apple Pencil 1
GarryP Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Thanks for providing the extra information. I think there are two related issues there: 1. The name of the global colour which is selected via the Colour Selector is not displayed next to the Colour Selector. As far as I’m aware, this has never been the case and I have no evidence that it’s a bug. It might be something which would be very useful to have but I’m fairly confident that it not being there is not a bug. 2. The global colour which is selected in the Colour Selector is not highlighted in the list of colours when the pop-up is displayed. Again, as far as I’m aware, this has never been the case and I have no evidence that it’s a bug. It might be something which would be very useful to have but I’m fairly confident that it not being there could simply be an oversight by the developer. (I had a quick look at Designer 1.10.6 and the situation is the same there, as far as I could tell, at the time.) While I agree that the implementation of both of these things would be useful, and would make good feature requests, I have no evidence that either of them is a bug. BBG3 1 Quote

BBG3 Posted March 19 Author Posted March 19 Very Nice! Thanks, @GarryP, for clarifying the problem. I consider this only an essential one for professional graphic designers, like a magnetic-tip screwdriver. Thank you, @carl123! Extra info: I checked what Illustrator does. It highlights the colors but doesn't show the colors name. (The FX is very slow and does not update the global colors unless you click the colors on FX panel) Thanks Quote Affinity Designer | Affinity Photo | Affinity Publisher V2.6.2 ▪️ Mac: 2021 M1 MacBook Pro 16", 32GB memory, macOS Sequoia 15.4 ▪️ iPad: iPad Pro, 12.9": iPadOS 16.7.10, Apple Pencil 1

(There is a chance that Serif might ignore reports of ‘bugs’ that aren’t really bugs.) Quote
