Hangman Posted Monday at 11:02 PM Posted Monday at 11:02 PM Hi @Iztok, .afpackage and .afpub files are two completely different things, the former collects all linked files and fonts used in your document from various folders into a single convenient location for the purpose of transferring to a different computer, to give to someone else to work on or to provide to a print company, much like InDesign. You should treat an .afpackage file as a collation mechanism only, it doesn’t record changes or additions made to your original Publisher file and so should only be used for the above stated purposes… Quote Affinity Designer 2.5.7 | Affinity Photo 2.5.7 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.7 Affinity Designer Beta 2.6.0.3027 | Affinity Photo Beta 2.6.0.3027 | Affinity Publisher Beta 2.6.0.3027 MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse
Iztok Posted Tuesday at 08:20 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 08:20 AM They why is normaly open and can work with it? If I make package I assume that all in that package is in and all links from elswere are broken. I realy don't now why are you complicate. InInDesign I can work with create document in package as basic, and I got even basic version IDML to open in earlier formats. It is simple and logical. Now my package I create has links from other folders and everything is linkmess. Quote
Iztok Posted Tuesday at 08:21 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 08:21 AM So when I open afpackage file I need to create another dociment file in which could work? Quote
Hangman Posted Tuesday at 08:29 AM Posted Tuesday at 08:29 AM Think of a Package file purely as a convenient way to archive or transfer your files to another source or person... It is simply a method for conveniently gathering all the linked files and fonts from various file locations into a single folder. When working with the Affinity apps you would save using the respective native file formats .afpub, .afdesign and .afphoto...
