techtone Posted February 2 Posted February 2 (edited) Hi, I'm getting this notification whenever I try to open a PSD file from this site, https://pixelbuddha.net/ Another PSD file from here https://mockups-design.com/minimalist-business-card-mockup-set/ Anything to do? I can't seem to find any visual issues after clicking OK with the opened file. Maybe it's worth investigating? Thanks. Edited February 2 by techtone Added Affinity and macOS versions. Quote
GarryP Posted February 2 Posted February 2 There are some functionalities in the Adobe applications, such as some gradient types (Gradient Mesh is one example), which have no functional equivalent in the Affinity applications. Because of this, some PSD (and other Adobe-format files) files might not import correctly, and some might not open at all. I think there’s a chance that you might have come across one of those situations. If that’s correct then there might not be much you can do about it. If you can get the file in a different format then you could try that instead. Quote
GarryP Posted February 2 Posted February 2 You’re welcome. Maybe someone else will be able to advise on other things you can try (I don’t use PSD files myself so I haven’t learned any ‘tricks’ related to them). Quote
carl123 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 The file (business card) looks fine. It opens correctly looks like the mockup and works like a smart object in Affinity Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. This may be a macOS problem, perhaps specific to macOS 15.2 (as per the topic tags). techtone Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 Yes, the file opens correctly, and I can't see any issues related to that message. Was not using Affinity for quite a while, and didn't try many files yet. But, it looks like the message can be ignored. Quote
techtone Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 Well, the message can be ignored, but some files with heavy effects won't open correctly. For example, this file https://pixelbuddha.net/text-effects/2673-80s-text-effects-collection first image. And, this is how it looks like after opening the file. And here is the message: Unknown property : AdjustmentGradientFill, gradientsInterpolationMethod Unknown property : EffectGradientFill,gs99 Unknown property : EffectGradientFill,gs99 Unknown property : EffectGradientFill,gs99 Unknown property : EffectGradientFill,gs99 Unknown property : EffectGradientFill,gs99 Unknown property : EffectGradientFill,gs99 Unknown property : EffectGradientFill,gs99 Like Garry mentioned, because of those missing equals makes it look like the screenshot. Gonna try Pixelmator Pro to see if it works there. Quote
