hunter_sk Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Problem description: Curves/Levels preview not updated when manipulating with layer visibility of underlayers. Application: Photo 2.5.7 Platform: Windows 10 Reproducable: Yes HW Acceleration: OFF, (ON = not supported) Steps to reproduce: Create pixel layer with image content Create levels/curves adjustment layer and make some adjustments Create another levels/curves adjustment layer on top and open adjustments of this layer While editing levels of top layer, change visibility of adjustment layer below Preview is updated only if adjustment window is closed (e.g. by selecting other layer) and selecting adjustments back again Situation: Quote
Staff DWright Posted February 3 Staff Posted February 3 Hi @hunter_sk, Each of the Curve adjustments layers have their own curve map rather than a shared one so hiding the layer below the one selected will not affect the selected layer. Quote

It's about the histogram (preview), not the values itself. Hiding the layer below should update the selected levels histogram window. It's updated for instance when clicking on the layer below and back to top layer: levels.mp4 Quote
NotMyFault Posted May 14 Posted May 14 This is a old pain. Histograms and scope panels are second class children in Affinity apps. In older threads Affinity said there are rendered with low priority when Affinity apps have no other high-priority tasks. mipmap rendering may have its impacts giving low res histogram values initially, and users in Photo need do hit the „calculate now“ yellow triangle repeatedly. Histograms and scope panels work sometimes on sunny days after the app was started, but often stop working after some minutes of editing. Has been reported since years over and over again, never got fully fixed. Affects Win, Mac, and most severely iPad.
