Webmaid Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I find PP9 excellent, as were previous versions, and cannot understand why it's discontinued. However for future needs I would be interested to know what is as good as this, and would I be able to open all my valued templates prior to and including PP9? Quote
MikeTO Posted January 25 Posted January 25 @Webmaid Welcome to the forums. Sometimes apps reach the end of their life and it's easier to start over from scratch than try to rework the old code. Even companies like Apple and Microsoft do this from time to time. No other applications can open PagePlus files. You can export your files as PDF and open those in Affinity but you'll of course lose your paragraph and character styles and the links between text frames. But PDF export will help you convert any files you need to keep. As far as which app is better, while there are still a few features that PagePlus had that Affinity doesn't have, Affinity has far more features and more powerful versions of the same features. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised although you may face a bit of a learning curve as Affinity is a different application, not a new version of PagePlus.
