Does this only happen with the beta or does it also happen with the latest commercial release?

Issues that only happen with the beta should be reported in the appropriate beta section of the forums.

Can you supply either:

  • a full-screen (whole application UI) video showing us what happens, or;
  • two full-screen (whole application UI) screenshots, one before you group the “objects” and one after the grouping.

Please make sure we can see the Layers Panel in whatever you give us.

Also, how are you doing the grouping?

Sorry, but I can't find the beta section you refer to.

The question is simple to illustrate:  When I try to group two or more objects, they are NOT grouped at all.

The problem is in the beta. That is the only version currently installed on my PC

To find the beta sections of the forums, go to the forums home screen and scroll down – see attached image.

When you upload screenshots, or other images, please do so without wrapping them in a PDF which makes it harder to see them.

In your example screenshot (in the PDF), the two Rectangle layers are grouped - there’s a Group layer which contains the two Rectangle layers.

Do you actually want to combine the shapes, to make them into one shape, rather than grouping them?

I just want to group several parts of a textframe together. I know that shapes can be combined in several ways. I also use to do that in Designer etc.

To my surprise the option "group" today appeared to work. Groups I made earlier when I had the problem above were not only together, but I needed to "ungroup" them several times to seperate them again. It is as if I locked them several times an must now unlock them as many times. Stange expedrience. I hope the problem is over, although I did not change te app. Today I still experienced the problem and now it seems to be over. I did not restart the PC or even the Publisher app.

I don’t understand what you mean by that.

Which "parts" of a "textframe" are you wanting to group, and what do you expect to achieve by doing so?

There seems to be some confusion between then words “group” and “combine” so we need to know exactly what you want to do.

If you can give us a full-screen (whole application UI) screenshot where we can see what you can see when you do what you are doing – include the Layers Panel in which we can see the relevant layers – and give us more information about what you are trying to do then we should be able to help further.
