hello,

since this morning I cannot export jpg-files from affinity1 to laptop (windows11). after working on the raw-file I want to export the photo as a jpg into the same folder (in "pictures") as the raw-file. I get this message: "file file not found. check file name and try again".

tried to change file name: same problem / tried to export jpg-file into another folder in pictures: same problem / problem still here after re-start laptop / problem still here after opening affinity1 as administrator

BUT: when I export the jpg-file into my dropbox folder it works perfectly. this could be a temporary solution only because it's rather annoying to then transfer the files back to the folder with the raw-files. very time consuming.

tried to find answers via google search and search here in the forum but couldn't find any.

what could be the reason for this problem? everything worked fine until yesterday. thank you in advance for any guidance how to solve the problem. regards, ELHA

The question should be: what has changed on your system/workflow since yesterday?

Are you maybe opening the raw file from your dropbox folder?

thank you. nothing changed.

my workflow: importing raw-files from camera to laptop, a folder is created in pictures. opening a raw-file in affinity, working on it, exporting it back as jpg to said folder.

never used dropbox for dealing with my photos, I only found out randomly that this way of exporting works.

Hi ELHA,

Sorry to hear you are having issues saving your files please could you try running the app as admin to see if this makes any difference? If this doesn't help please could you try reinstalling the app if you haven't already?

Thanks
C

The error message you reported (or one similar) often indicates that you have the Windows Controlled Folder Access function enabled, and have not white-listed the Affinity applications to allow them to update the directory you're trying to use. I would start by checking that possibility, and either white-listing the application or disabling Controlled Folder Access.

AFAIK this does not apply to Windows consumer products

It does, and other Affinity users have reported issues with it.
