Hi all, sorry I'm just learning Affinity Publisher (fast), and I wanted to create text frames with fills and rounded corners.  So, 2 queries:

1. Is it possible to added rounded corners to a standard text frame?

2. I've learnt one common solution, so I've created the frame using 'Rounded Rectangle Tool', and converted to text frame.  However, I then can't edit the actual shape later, e.g. if I wanted to change the corner radius - is it possible to edit the shape later once converted to a text frame? I can change the fill, dimension etc., but not other attributes of the shape.

Again, for now as a workaround, I've overlayed a standard text frame, over a rounded rectangle shape, so I can still edit both, but it's not ideal.

Thanks in advance!

No, you'd have to create the rounded rectangle first and then convert it to a text frame.

Tip: After converting it to a text frame, select it with the Node tool and you'll be able to edit the object properties such as corner radius.

Thanks, that's really helpful, so at least I can make shape edits after conversion to a text frame, or overlay a frame as a layer over a shape, so it's good to have options depending on my use case.

Really appreciate the tip.

For a quick solution to an existing text frame, you can just add a (rounded) stroke, the same colour as the fill

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Thanks, another option, I'll have to try that one as well.

It's much easier ...

- Draw a normal rectangle without rounded corners
- Assign a radius with the context bar
- Click inside with the frame text tool and enter the desired text

Then you can still change the radius using the context bar or even with the rectangle tool activated using the mouse.

Thanks for this also, I'm going to try and these tips later, see what works out best for my design. Credit to all for your tips, I'm going to really enjoy the Affinity journey. So nice to say goodbye to Adobe
