Old images with Epson sRGB causing Photo 2 to crash
MiWe replied to a47579's topic in V2 Bugs found on macOS
Using AFPhoto 2.4.1. on a system running Windows 10 the original PNG opens without any issues, hardware acceleration turned on. It shows that tht file ist using the mentioned Epson profile. By the way nice drawing … -

OK, I see ... So I have to copy each file from a read-only medium to a place where this ~lock~ file can be created. Sorry, a no go. All files are stored on a read-only NAS. These files often serve as the basis for new projects. Always making a copy first to be able to edit them is just too cumbersome and time-consuming. Is there a way to get the software to write this ~lock~ file to, say, a temporary location?

This morning I upgraded to version 2.2. Since then, I cannot open any write-protected files from a NAS or an optical medium such as Blu Ray. A message appears that the file in question is possibly being used by someone else. I can only close this message. Happens with Photo, Designer and Publisher. This problem did not exist with version 2.1.1. Can anyone confirm this? Windows 10 Pro, Version 22H2.

Guides and Bounding boxes.
MiWe replied to jackamus's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Try to select the object with the point transform tool and drag a guide to the desired node. Using Designer 2.11, Windows 10 the guide snaps … Or am i missing something? Greetings -
Tried to replicate this on an Windows 10 machine using Designer 2.11 … Works – i get the strokes as separate curves – until i try to undo with CTRL-Z: Crash. Greetings

However, the examples only work for intersections within a curve. Not when different curves cross. Illustrator has the advantage that you can assign a contour style to an entire layer. Each object within this layer will have the same appearance even if separate curves cross. Would be a ncie feature for Designer too … Greetings -

Keep CTRL pressed when using the arrow keys and you get changes by 0.1 per keystroke. Greetings -

OT: Why does the globe turn in the wrong direction 🤪 ? Inkscape is very handy as an 'addon' for AD.

Somewhere on this forum @walt.farrell posted a batch file to integrate Affinity 2.0 within third party software: start /b affinityphoto2.exe %1 exit I took this and converted taht batch into 3 sepparate executable files. Each contains the code corresponding to appropriate programm (Photo, Designer, Publisher) and integrated the right icon. This can be placed somewhere on your computer and your third party software should point to this exe files. Only tested it with XnViewMP and it works without any problems. XnView shows also the right icon. For someone interested I attached the files in a ZIP. Comments are highly appreciated. Greetings EDIT: Attachment removed

Maybe helpfull ... if you click in the numeric box following short cuts work: - arrow up/down changes the value 1 pt - arrow+shift up/down changes the value 10 pt - arrow+strg/cmd up/down changes the value 0.1 pt Greetings -
Just made a quick test ... Place a rectangle with white fill and blend mode multiply covering your layout between the vector layer (topmost) and the layers you want to be rastersed. You can lock it against unwanted movement. When you create a PDF file the vector will stay vector and the white rectangle will result in an additional image within the PDF that contains the rasterised content of all layers beneath it. Like I said, just a quick test. Maybe you have to refine this idea ... Greetings
