NarutoUzumaki Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Hi there, I have been using Affinity Photo 2 for a while now and really enjoy its powerful features. However, I've encountered a minor inconvenience and was hoping to suggest a feature that might improve the workflow for many users. **Issue:** When working on projects, I often need to switch between landscape and portrait dimensions (e.g., 1280x720 to 720x1280). Currently, I have to manually re-enter the dimensions, which can be a bit time-consuming and disrupts the editing process. **Feature Request:** I propose adding a one-click "Reverse Size" button within the dimensions settings. This button would automatically swap the width and height values with a single click, making it faster and more efficient to switch between different aspect ratios. **Benefits:** - **Improves Efficiency:** Saves time when adjusting document sizes, especially for projects that require frequent dimension changes. - **User-Friendly:** Provides a more intuitive interface for users who frequently work with different orientations. - **Consistent Workflow:** Helps maintain a smooth and uninterrupted editing experience. Thank you for considering this feature request. I believe it would be a valuable addition to Affinity Photo 2 and would greatly appreciate your feedback or any potential workarounds in the meantime. GarryP Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Welcome to the forums @NarutoUzumaki If this were to be implemented, how would the software decide which part of the document should be visible to the user after the aspect ratio was changed? For example, if the document currently has a portrait aspect (the image of an abbey in my example below), which of the coloured rectangles (or other rectangle) should be the result after the aspect ratio switch? It might help us to understand why you might want to do this is you tell us what you are doing. Quote

lepr Posted Friday at 06:06 PM Posted Friday at 06:06 PM @NarutoUzumaki AP's Crop Tool has a Rotate button which swaps the width and height of the canvas without rotating the content of the document. Quote

Just for interest, the status says that dragging inside moves the cropped area, which would be necessary to adjust the crop position after rotating it. But in Windows it doesn't work for me - the cropping frame is set again, which is quite impractical for these purposes. Edit: It only works when the cropping frame is reduced/adjusted (just click on the handle), so there must be a bug. I can click anywhere in the view, not just on a handle, to indicate that I do not want to draw out a new crop size, and then move dragging can be performed. To me, the bug is the misinformation in the status bar when the tool is still in its initial draw-out-the-size mode. Quote
