Dan Sumption Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I'm laying out a book in Publisher, and while almost all of the text frames work as expected, occasionally I will get a huge gap at the bottom of a page, with the paragraph continuing on the following page even though there is plenty of space for it in the gap. Here is an example: I have tried playing with Flow Options, but can't seem to get rid of the gap. Here is what I currently have Flow Options set to: Any ideas? Quote
walt.farrell Posted January 7 Posted January 7 The Flow options are often a cause of this, so checking and resetting them is a good idea. In case you haven't, though, make sure you have the text selected when you make the change, unless you're making the change using a Text Style. If the text isn't selected, the change may not apply to it. Also, Flow options in one paragraph can affect other paragraphs before (and perhaps after) it, sometimes further away than you might suspect. So it's worthwhile checking all of the paragraphs or selecting all the text and turning the Flow options off. Other than that, I always use Text > View Special Characters so I can see the characters that are usually hidden, which can also explain such odd gaps. Dan Sumption Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 Hi Walt, Many thanks for your suggestions! It turns out that the problem was being caused by the "keep with next 1 lines" setting on the short paragraphs on the following page. All fixed now, thanks to your help! Quote
