Darner Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Hi Sorry if this is mentioned in another thread, but there are so many bugs appearing lately, and not able to thoroughly search through every post ever posted, every time. Did a quick search though without any luck. As another minor but yet very relevant bug in Links. Sometimes it's appropriate to place a link with Trim Box to get exact snap related to other links. In some cases, the files moves a bit automatically when going from Trim Box to Minimum Content. As links are unable to snap in many situations, would be great to have the link stay in place when switching trim setting. A squared centered test file will of course not show this issue, but less symmetrical design will. Thanks Quote
Staff NathanC Posted January 3 Staff Posted January 3 Hi @Darner, I'm not sure I completely follow what the issue is based on the described scenario, are you referring to linked files inserted into a document via File > Place?, can you provide a sample file(s) along with a screen recording demonstrating the issue? This should hopefully help clarify things for us. Thanks Quote

Linked object is related to other linked objects in this specific document, designed to align all placed files in center of Spread, but without the Trim Box square covering entire spread. And accuracy is of importance. Links don't always snap much as normal layers, specially this one being isometric. As posted another place about other link issuementioned in another link post, links are normally not showing until opening document and moving linked layer around. (Link is there and ok in resource manager). Extensive zooming can also work sometimes. But when saving and opening same files again, same issue occurs. So working with multiple files likes this, it can become an issue. Affects file export, file preview etc. Lastly, issue with having a document with linked files, then linking this document again with other files, if made sense. Explained this in another post as well, just a reminder since touching on issues with linked files. This is not about finding a workaround for one file layer alignment etc, it is about a workflow for multiple linked files / documents. Perhaps the whole link system could use some upgrade. Let me know if you need more info. Screen Recording 2025-01-03.mov Quote
Staff NathanC Posted January 7 Staff Posted January 7 Thanks, can confirm I've logged this with the developers for confirmation and further investigation. If you've posted regarding the other mentioned linked file issues in other threads we'll look into these separately in their respective threads. Darner 1 Quote
