sials1066 Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 I am trying to create a business card in Affinity Designer after creating the document with the proper margins, I go to layers-->artboard right-click on it, and select "duplicate" I see a new artboard on the right panel and can re-name them, but I do not see the new artboard in the main screen in the middle, even if I zoom out all the way the only one I see is the first What am I doing wrong?. loukash Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 An artboard is a vector object, so by duplicating, it will be placed exactly at the same position on the canvas. (That's "by design" as they say.) Simply drag it by clicking the artboard name in the top left corner. In fact, rather than duplicating an artboard by the Duplicate command, you may want to switch to the Artboard tool and click the Insert Artboard button on the contextual toolbar which will conveniently insert a new artboard of the same size next to your first artboard on the canvas. sials1066 1 Quote MacBookAir 15": MacOS Ventura > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 16 > Affinity v2

You can also click on the Artboard name in the document window with the CMD (Mac) or (I think!) CTRL key held down on Windows to drag out a duplicate. Using Shift as well (after you start the drag) will constrain it to align horizontally or vertically with the original. But far more useful than that for many workflows is to select the artboard & tap the Return key, which will open the Move/Duplicate window with lots of options. loukash 1 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.6 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7

But you can use either of the two other methods I mentioned to add new artboard(s) at other positions. loukash 1 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.6 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7
