ramos_berlin Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Publisher crashes when opening a specific document before i can do a click inn the document. In the very same document publisher crashes when moving around elements... there seems to be an problem at page 74, in which an unknown element is places far outside the page -- indicated by the red frame which is going up till the first page... but there is no element i could adress. when i try to delete that page the programm crashes too). in a version of the document, where i worked around that behavior), it crashes now every time when i open the document. it starts loading, but before finishing the build-up of the UI it crashes without any notice. Win 10, 64bit/lates version of publisher, size of document: 264MB Quote

I'm an end user like yourself but if you're happy to DM the file to me I'd be happy to take a look for you. Alternatively, if you'd prefer someone from Serif to take a look they will be able to provide a private Dropbox link for you once someone in the moderation team picks up this thread... ramos_berlin Posted December 9, 2024 Author Posted December 9, 2024 so thanks for your notice, @Hangman ... but that file isn´t for public use so i can´t provide it here. i´m working around the bug with some extra textfields, altering the inclusion-status of some bis pictures and a lot of patience (with repeated crashes); saving my work every 2 minutes. Hangman Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 @ramos_berlin, There will be something in the file or one of the linked graphics causing the crash. It's usually pretty straightforward to identify the cause but we'd need to see the file to be able to do that... Would you like someone at Serif to provide a private Dropbox link so they can look at your file internally or is that not an option for you either? As mentioned, if you're happy to send the file to me privately either via a DM or a link to the file from Google Drive I'd be happy to take a look for you but I equally understand if that is not an option for privacy reasons...
